As a Solution Architect Sr within PNC’s ACFR organization, the preferred candidate will reside and work in one of our Technology hub locations: Birmingham, AL; Cleveland, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; or Dallas, TX. Responsibilities require time in the office with the opportunity for remote work at the manager’s discretion.

•\tThis senior-level position is responsible for Strategy, Architecture, and Innovation. It interacts with senior business and technology leaders, SMEs, and our business architecture team to bridge the gap of current state business needs with the future state objectives culminating in technology strategies and solution architectures that will enable business outcomes and drive transformation. In this role, you will draw upon your business and technology experience to partner with these key stakeholders to ensure that the strategic technology perspectives, architectures, artifacts, and roadmaps are well crafted, presented, and gather consensus. This candidate required to understand complex business and system interactions to develop modern architectures that support large scale transformation initiatives.

•\tCandidates should have a strong background in solution/platform/system/application/data architecture, with good working knowledge of business architecture. This role will also assess and drive integration strategies to gain operational efficiencies, optimize product offerings and deliver a compelling client value proposition.

•\tThis position is highly visible, and influential, demanding resources to be strategic, conscientious, and deliberate. This role requires proven thought leadership, networking skills, interpersonal communication, political & emotional intelligence, written communication, and the ability to understand and anticipate emerging business needs and technology capabilities.

This role reports through the ACFR Technology Business Management Office and is responsible for the following activities:

1.\tPerforms the required ACFR Domain Architecture Documentation and Design Reviews for and completes this quality within the required service level agreements stated in the Enterprise Architecture program.
2.\tChairs the ACFR Architecture Forum reviewing:
a.\tDomain architecture reviews (CL0/1.)
b.\tACFR sponsored New Technology final approval recommendations.
c.\tOther architecture topics as identified by AAF members (e.g., patterns, solution discussion, etc.)
3.\tRepresents ACFR in required Enterprise Architecture committees and working groups including the Technology Architecture Committee and Technology Positions and Patterns Working Group. Communicates changes back to the broader ACFR Technology teams.
4.\tServes as the ACFR Quarterback lead tracking Technology Non-Discretion (TND) commitments for ACFR related to exceptions and missing Technology Delivery Factory requests.
5.\tProvides general consulting to the broader ACFR Technology team on a variety of issues in software designs, system architecture and solution-oriented technologies through ad hoc requests.
6.\tAssists the ACFR Technology Business Management team on other technology domain areas as needed to support the team.
General responsibilities include:
7.\tDevelops solution architecture and resolves complex issues in a variety of projects through the implementation of requirements analysis, expertise support and project supervision.
8.\tDesigns solution architecture in large or complex programs, including system and application designs, software, and technical architecture, in accordance with strategies and objectives.
9.\tDevelops solutions that account for non-functional requirements (architectural quality attributes) and apply appropriate architectural tactics to fulfil them.
10.\tCommunicates with clients and analyses business requirements and processes; makes architecture recommendations.
11.\tOversees solution architecture project outcomes, including hardware and software design; ensures that each project phase meets overall requirements.
12.\tExplores new and emerging technologies and develops strategic viewpoints on how they could be leveraged to enable business outcomes, drive transformation, or understand their potential disruptions. Evaluates, designs, and applies new information technologies for business environments.
13.\tPractices decision making and critical thinking – Understands the issues related to the decision-making process; analyzes situations fully and accurately and reaches productive decisions.
14.\tPractices Enterprise Systems thinking & possesses a broad understanding of technologies.

Job Description

• Develops solution architecture and resolves complex issues in a variety of projects through the implementation of requirements analysis, expertise support and project supervision.
• Designs solution architecture in large or complex programs, including system and application designs, software and technical architecture, in accordance with strategies and objectives.
• Provides expertise for the solution architecture team and other IT staff on a variety of issues in software designs, system architecture and solution-oriented technologies.
• Communicates with clients and analyses business requirements and processes; makes recommendations, and leads in shaping future plans in solution architecture.
• Oversees solution architecture project outcomes, including hardware and software design; ensures that each project phase meets overall requirements.
