We are seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant with a strong background in tax preparation and CPA certification to join a small public accounting firm with a diverse portfolio of services. This is an onsite position (with some flexibility) in the Davis area and an exciting opportunity for someone to build their career with partner level potential at a boutique accounting firm. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely filing of tax returns, preparing financial statements, maintaining compliance with tax regulations, and providing strategic tax planning advice. Salary: $85,000-$110,000 DOE.

This role requires meticulous attention to detail, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Conduct tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance on tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
• Assist in financial statement preparation, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to support audit processes.
• Mentor junior staff members and provide training on tax-related matters.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification required.
• 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax department.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Ability to work as a team player and independently.
