Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Security Officer.
Hours/Shift: Full-time, 36-hours, night shift
Job Requirements:
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Security experience preferred
Required: Valid Drivers License with Good Driving Record
De-escalation and Physical Intervention training completed within 180 days of hire.
Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) certification by International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) must be successfully obtained within 90 days of hire.
Preferred: Former military, law enforcement, or security officer experience.
As a Security Officer with Sentara, you will ensure a physically safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees. This position's primary duties include actively patrolling campuses and monitoring activity in and around buildings and responding appropriately to both routine and emergent situations. You will also document daily activities via computer, conduct investigations, evaluate situations, and take appropriate steps for resolution. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the safety of everyone on site.
