EXCAVATOR OPERATOR UNDERGROUND UTILITIES

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our client’s team with the underground utility division. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of excavators and heavy machinery on commercial construction sites. This role is crucial for the successful completion of projects, ensuring that excavation tasks are performed efficiently and safely. The Excavator Operator will work closely with other construction personnel to meet project deadlines and maintain high standards of quality.

Duties

• Experience in all phases of commercial related excavation and underground utilities.
• Experience operating excavator and other equipment on commercial job sites.
• Minimum of 3 years field and equipment operation experience.
• Ability to read grade stakes and blueprints without assistance.
• Experience digging safely in roadways and around existing underground utilities and with trench boxes.
• Ability to stage material safely and productively, to include import of soil and aggregates.
• Communicate and take direction from others, requires dependability and responsibility to be at work on time.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA trenching and excavation standards and the ability to safely and productively dig around existing utilities and in all kinds of materials.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Excavator Operator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in operating various types of heavy machinery.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints and project plans effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• A valid driver's license is required, pre-employment drug test and background check.

This position will require some labor work, the ability to use a shovel, lift objects up to sixty pounds, and the ability to communicate with the rest of the crew. There is future opportunity for advancement with this position.
