Job Description - Conduct patient interviews to obtain identifying information, such as, demographic, biographic and insurance status for Registration/Check In. Information is entered accurately, into the EPIC system
- Obtain signatures on registration forms including TPO, Bill of Rights, HIPPA Notice of Privacy, Health Care Proxy, and General Consents
- Scan insurance cards, Photo ID, and other supporting documentation in EPIC
- Assist patients in making or rescheduling appointments in EPIC
- Generate Medical Record Numbers for new patients
- Perform system checks to verify insurance coverage including ePaces for Medicaid
- Revise patient information in EPIC based on documentation provided by patients
- Provide guidance to patients in regards to Hospital Policy such as the document requirements for Insurance Screening and/or Financial assistance.
- Accept patient payments of cash, checks, debit cards, and credit cards
- Issue payment receipts via EPIC payment functions
- Reconcile all payments received against receipts issued and prepare daily proof of cash reconciliation report
- Submit daily reconciled cash payments receipts and reports to department designee for review
- Follow proof of cash reconciliation policy and all other cashier procedures and functions.
- Provide coverage in other clinical areas as needed
- Perform other assignments as deemed necessary by the department.
Minimum Qualifications 1. A high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and
2. Six (6) months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience and/or experience interacting with the public, such as processing sales; taking, processing, and delivering orders; obtaining and dispensing information; listening to and resolving customers concerns, problems, and complaints; and/or performing related customer service activities.
