This role is a dynamic job that will have you driving an F650 with a boom crane on the back. Your role includes meeting flatbed trailers to aid in the loading and unloading of our large propane tanks at customer locations. We pride ourselves in having our Drivers be the final point of contact in the sales process, and ensuring the customer is satisfied with their order. 

The position is physical by nature, as the unloading process will have you outside operating a crane (we provide all the training) and climbing a ladder. You will be based out of your home (secure parking for the Truck is requirement) and will support customers and delivery drivers throughout the Midwest.

The pay is typically $27/hour (there are opportunities for overtime), there is also a 50$ per day per diem, and you will stay in hotels when out on the road.

You can expect to be on the road 5 days a week, and home 2 days a week. We strive to have this happen on weekends, but things can shift based on business needs.

Job description

This position will be regional based with delivery encompassing the Midwest region

Key Responsibilities :

• Ensure Safety First, Safety Always and meet or exceed Quality expectations.
• Inspect equipment prior to start of shift to ensure road readiness.
• Perform Quality Control. Visually inspect and secure freight prior to departure.
• Report any mechanical, quality issues to Supervisor and ensure correction of all issues before departure from loading site.
• Safely transport product from loading site to delivery site.
• Adhere to traffic safety laws while operating vehicle.
• Climb tanks and prepare tanks for offloading.
• Safely operate a crane at customer site to unload new tanks and load returning tanks, while maintaining a safe work area and ensuring product quality.
• Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
• Maintain full DOT and FMCSA regulation compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year experience operating medium- to heavy-duty commercial trucks, with no adverse or safety incidents on record.
• Experience with flatbed and/or heavy equipment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to safely climb ladders up to 14 feet to climb on tanks
• Ability to reach 4 ft and lift chains of 50 to 75 lb. to connect spreader bar to boom
• Ability to manually extend outriggers (75 – 80 lb) to support crane and truck
• Ability to drive long hours and remain out up to 2 weeks occasionally
• Ability to adapt to and operate in various traffic and weather conditions
• Ability to record data accurately and in a timely manner
• Detail- orientated/attentive to detail to ensure safety and quality
• Ability to receive and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships through excellent customer service

Education and Certification Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Class-A Commercial Driver’s License
• HAZMAT Certification, preferred
• Certified or become Qualified to operate a knuckle boom
