Advanced Assembly Technician – Weekend Shift
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician to join our clients manufacturing team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for accurately utilizing data collection systems, performing all tasks of the assembly process independently, training new team members, and ensuring conformance to quality specifications. Your role will also involve assisting in the development of new assembly procedures, performing preventive maintenance, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Specifications:
- Job Type: Full-time, temp to hire
- Location: West Fargo, ND
- Pay Rate: Hourly Pay Range: $23.72 - $30.23 (offer based on skills/experience)
- Shift: Friday-Sunday, 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 36-hour work weeks with potential for overtime
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years job-related experience in a manufacturing environment
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Accurately utilize data collection systems
- Perform all tasks of the assembly process independently
- Effectively perform rework operations independently
- Train new team members on all assembly operations
- Identify and accurately categorize wear patterns of parts
- Use blueprints, gauges, torque measuring devices, and/or other equipment to ensure conformance to quality specifications
- Assist in the development of new assembly and disassembly procedures
- Use precision measuring devices to effectively assemble and/or disassemble the final product
- Interpret blueprints effectively
- Train other technicians in various assembly and disassembly operations
- Assist lead person in their absence
- Perform preventive maintenance as required
- Assist in identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes as necessary
- Perform 5S Audits
- Perform Safety Stop Audits observations as required
- Participate in the CI/PID Process
- Undertake any duties or tasks assigned to promote cross-training or support for various areas of the shop
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3-5 years job-related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Highly motivated and a self-starter
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Proven record of good attendance
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
